What is Telehealth?
“Tele” means distance, so it’s really distance health. It can involve a consultation with your Osteopath over the phone or with a video link.
How does it work?
You can make an appointment online from our website here or call the clinic to make a Telehealth consultation. You will receive a confirmation email with a unique link to dial in at the time of your appointment. This can be done from a mobile device, iPad or computer. You will need to make sure your computer has a camera and microphone.
At the time of booking you will be asked to pay for your appointment. As this is not a hands on consultation we have reduced the rate to $40 and have allowed 20-30 minutes for this appointment.
What will the Osteopath be able to do?
We will ask you questions about your complaint and lead you through some tests for you to perform on the camera or over the phone to come to a diagnosis. We will then offer advise on treatment and management. An exercise program can also be emailed with videos for you to perform at home.
Can I claim with my private Health Insurance?
Private Health Insurance is NOT covered for Telehealth at this stage.
Medicare is covered if you have a care plan with your Doctor.
Who is this for?
1. Any of our current patients who are in the midst of a treatment plan and are self-isolating. This is a good way to continue communication with your Osteopath and to ask for more exercises and advice so you don’t fall back in your treatment.
2. Anyone working from home who would like an Ergonomic assessment to ensure they minimise the risk of neck and back complaints from sitting at an unsuitable work station.
3. Anyone with an acute injury such as a sprained ankle and does not want to put undue pressure on our health system or put their health at risk and would like advice before unnecessarily heading to emergency or their GP.
